LEARN KOREAN - INTRODUCING CONVERSATION

A few months ago I met a Korean friend on a social media. I called him Oppa because he is older than me. We still keep in touch until right now. We use video call at least once a week. He didn't know English, only Korean. He teaches me Korean very well. I wish oneday I can go to Korea and meet him face to face. 

Here's a simple introducing conversation in Korean between Oppa and me. Please check it out!

나 : 안녕하세요?
Na : Annyeonghaseyo
Me : How do you do?

오빠 : 네, 안녕하세요
Oppa : Ne, annyeonghaseyo
Oppa : Yes, how do you do

나 : 이름이 뭐입니까?
Na : Ireumi mwoimnikka?
Me : What's your name?

오빠 : 재 이름은 무함마드입니다. 당신은요?
Oppa : Jae ireumeun Muhammadeuimnida. Dangsineunyo?
Oppa : My name is Muhammad. And you?

나 :  재 이름은 누리입니다. 만나서 반갑습니다.
Na : Jae ireumeun Nuriimnida. Mannaseo bangabseumnida.
Me : My name is Nury. Nice to meet you.

오빠 : 네, 반갑습니다.
Oppa : Ne, bangapseumnida.
Oppa : Yes, nice to meet you.

나 :  당신은 어디에 살고 있습니까?
Na : Dangsineun eodie salgoisseumnikka?
Me : Where do you live?

오빠 : 재가 우즈벡에서 왔습니다, 하지만 대구에 살고있습니다. 당신은요?
Oppa : Jaega Uzbekeseo wasseumnida, hajiman Daegue salgoisseumnida. Dangsineunyo?
Oppa : I come from Uzbek, but I live in Daegu. And you?

나 : 아... 그래요. 재가 인도네시아에서 왔읍니다.
Na : A... geuraeyo. Jaega Indonesiaeseo wasseumnida.
Me : A... I see. I come from Indonesia.

오빠 : 몇 살이십니까?
Oppa : Myeot salisimnikka?
Oppa : How old are you?

나 : 저는 25 세입니다. 당신은요?
Me : Jeoneun 25 seibnida. Dangsineunyo?
Me : I am 25 years old. How about you?

오빠 : 저는 29 세입니다.
Oppa : Jeoneun 29 seibnida.
Oppa : I am 29 years old.

나 : 우아... 멋있는 오빠
Na : Ua... Meositneun Oppa
Me : What a wonderful brother

오빠 : 진짜요? 감사합니다
Oppa : Jinjjayo? Kamsahamnida
Oppa : Really? Thank you


VOCABULARY

* 이름이 -----> Name
이름 + 이 (ireum + i) . 이 (i) is a particle, we will learn in the next lesson.

* 뭐입니까? ----> What
뭐 + 입니까? (mwo + imnikka?).  입니까 (imnikka) is a polite form for interrogative sentence.

* 재 ----> My
재 is combination of 저 + 의 to declare ownership mark

* 당신은요? ----> How about you?
당신 + 은 + 요 . Dangsin (당신) means " you ". Eun (은) is a subject particle. Yo (요) is polite form.

* 어디에 ----> Where
어디 + 에.
"에" is a particle of place.

* 살고 있습니까? ----> do you live?
살 : live
고 있 : progressive form
니까 : polite form

* 에서 ----> from

 * 왔습니다 ----> came

* 하지만 ----> but

* 그래요 ----> I see

* 살 ----> Age

* 멋있는 ----> Wonderful, cool
 는 is a subject particle

* 진짜요 ----> Really?

* 감사합니다 ----> Thank you
